On My Way To School

24 January 2013
06:45 AM

School (I Don't Want You)

I don't want to go to school
Cause I don't think it's really cool
I don't want to go to university
I just want to get out of this city
Where nobody's gonna see me

See, I'm girl with hopes and dreams
But I need a degree or so it seems

Cause I wanna go to London and Paris
Moscow, Madrid, Egypt and Greece
I wanna see Emma Watson, at least
Cause, you know, she is my queen

But I'm told I need to go to school
Get myself a degree
Cause maybe then when I get a degree
I can get myself a job
And maybe when I get a job
I'll be able to travel the world

See, school, I don't really like you
But it seems I really need you

So, I'm going to school
Cause I did my homework
And I have today my oral defense
I brought my notebooks with not just doodles
Cause really, school, I wanna say toodles

And maybe in three years I will graduate
Finish my masters
Cause that's what matters
And maybe then I will be better
I will be smarter
I will be taller

Really Ran

18 January 2013
03:58 PM

Krissy, Mae, Xave and I went out to exercise. Pola followed. Katrina had plans which got postponed by a few hours. She went to M60 only to find Eunice alone while the rest of us were trying to be fit. She made us a song, and made her one in return.

Reply to Katrina
In tune of Pumped Up Kicks

Hey what's up Katrina
We are back from our jog
And we really did jog
Well except for Pola
She just sat on a rock
As we played frisbee

All your cousins with the pumped up kicks
Really ran, really ran
Unlike Pola
Yeah
All your cousins with the pumped up kicks
Really ran, really ran
As you sat and sang

We heard you made us a song
Well this one's for you
This is our reply
Yeah, it's really awesome
It's kinda hipster
But also mainstream
I heard you like that kind of thing
But I can't be sure
No, I'm not really sure

But all your cousins wore their pumped up kicks
And really ran, really ran
And exercised
Maybe some time you'll wear your pumped up kicks
And outrun your cuz
Run run run run

Goodbye

Composed a song with Katrina, et al.

When I saw you, I didn't think I'd ever have to say goodbye
But then I realized you had to go

All the time, oh, it felt so short
I wish I could turn back time

But away, away, away you went
Away, away, you took my breath away
Those eyes, that smile, that hair
And those abs

Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
Beautiful abs
It was good, it was great
Goodbye beautiful abs

Goodbye to you and everything else that comes with you
Oh, I have to say goodbye

Where are you going?
Why are you leaving me behind?

In Preparation For A Contest

07 December 2012

A poetry writing contest which, I should I note, I didn't attend. No originals, just adaptations:

I think I shall never see a poem as lovely as me.

Shall I compare thee to Christmas Day? Thou art more cold and a bitch
Rough winds do shake the roof of your house
But I could only hope it would take you

Herr God, Herr Lucifer
Out of the placenta that covers me
I rise with my luscious hair
And I eat food like air

Black as an African-American arm pit from pole to pole
Out of the night that covers me
It matters not if you're straight or gay

I am the captain of my soul
I am the captain on my ship
It's going fast
And I got nautical themed Pashmina afghan
I'm the Queen of the world like Elizabeth
If you're on the shore, do you wanna bet

Voila, in view a humble vaudevillian veteran cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage no mere veneer of vanity
